About The Grey's in Nagano
We live in Chikuma City in Nagano Prefecture, Japan. Nagano is one of the most mountainous areas, with nine of the twelve highest peaks in the country. Places to hike, ski and enjoy the scenery are all within a short drive from our home. We currently live in a small rental house in a nice, quiet neighborhood, but we are looking for a big, old, Japanese farmhouse to fix up and live in some day.
 Robert
Age: 38
Robert is a teacher of English as well as a contributing blogger for the Nagano Inbound Ambassadors Blog of the Go! Nagano Official Nagano Prefecture Tourism Guide. He has been in Japan since 1998, with one year in Nagaoka, Niigata and Nagano ever since then. His interests include carpentry, hiking, skiing, singing, music, politics and literature.
 Tomomi
Age: ?
Tomomi is a licensed dental hygienist, but has been devoting her time to being a stay-at-home mother since 2003. Except for a few college years, she has lived her whole life in Chikuma, her home town. In her free time, she enjoys studying hula and has an interest in patchwork quilting and antiques shopping.
 Anri
Age: 6
Anri is in her third year of kindergarten. She enjoys drawing, painting and making things out of origami. Her favorite film is Sleeping Beauty .
Anri takes piano and ballet lessons and takes pride in the fact that she can already do a back walkover. She also loves playing with her dolls and going to the USA to visit her grandmother!
 Sara
Age: 3
Sara is about to start her first year of kindergarten. She likes to run around and imitate everything her big sister Anri does. She likes watching Cars
and The Wizard of Oz . Her favorite food is clam chowder and will eat huge portions of it, if given the chance. Though not shy, she likes to pretend to be so in front of some people.
 Noah
Age: 1
Noah likes eating, sleeping and playing with trucks, trains and anything with moving parts. He eats just about anything and makes quite a mess in the process. Cleaning up after him usually takes as long as it does for him to eat. When he gets angry, he likes to get down on all fours and bang his head on the floor. He does so really hard too.
